10U Heat
Remaining true to our promise to develop some of the most fundamentally sound softball players to come out New England - that journey begins here.  The goal of the 10U Worcester Heat coaching staff is to prepare players for the next stage of their development while reinforcing certain skill sets.  Hitting, fielding, pitching and base running will be key elements for 10U players to continue to develop during the 10U season.  10U Worcester Heat Softball players will begin to explore smaller aspects of the game such as working into fielding positions, setting up cut-offs, hitting cut-offs, on field/in-game communication, learning signs – all things that go unnoticed but are equally important in the development of any young softball player.  Practices typically run once per week from October through March with games beginning in early April and running through mid-June. 
Teams Available...
Worcester Heat Softball takes pride in the idea of developing and producing some of the best athletes to come out of Massachusetts.  Like all organizations, Heat Softball has a uniform philosophy to coaching and developing its players.  Each age group within the program has specific developmental agendas in place to help rounded the elite softball player.
12U Heat
With the 10U age group - the priority was in teach the basic fundamentals and to begin the developmental journey.  That priority has not changed for the 12U age groups within the Heat Softball program. With high school softball just around the corner this is the year to begin working on perfecting their skills so that they can work 
14U Heat
Players at the 14U level need to focus on what's next in their playing career - playing high school softball while thinking about the idea of playing college softball.  That's why, as a 14U Worcester Heat Softball player, players will be asked to become more accountable for their individual and team actions.  Each player will be pushed to refine the individual skills sets and approach to the game.  Building off of key fundamentals that were taught through the 10U and 12U years, the 14U players will have the oppurtunity to travel nationally to apply what they've been taught on a national level.  
towards becoming an elite player. The game pace will increase and therefore coaches will work towards teaching players to anticipate and react at a higher level. Reinforcement of prior concepts and fundamentals are essential for the 12U Worcester Heat Softball coaches.
16U College Prospects
For years players have been coached to perform at the high school level.  For the 16U Heat Softball players, these girls now need to start thinking about performing at the college level.  This is an advanced development year for these players.  With the team shifting focus from the development to more strong focus on competitiveness, the 16U Heat Softball team will be exposed to college programs and recruiters in hopes to play at the next level.  National tournaments and regional play will be expected and neccessary in order to get in front of the college talent scouts.
